Hurricane Katrina
Hurricane Katrina was in the top five deadliest hurricanes in the U.S. It first hit Florida as a hurricane on August 25. It then went to the Gulf of Mexico the next day to become a category five hurricane but weakened to a category three when it hit Louisiana on August 29. It caused a lot of damage in Florida and between Louisiana and Texas.
Most of the destruction was in New Orleans. 80% of New Orleans was flooded and Katrina had caused almost 1,500 deaths in the city alone. Katrina brought around 8-10 inches of rain in eastern Louisiana. The most rainfall recorded was 15 inches. The Hurricane caused a ton of destruction and almost 900,000 people lost power.

That is terrifying. I hope a hurricane like that doesn't happen again.
